Sir — BJP MP RK Singh’s allegation that criminals have been given tickets for Bihar Assembly poll cannot be repudiated for tangible reasons, and Union Minister Rajnath Singh’s endeavour to downplay the former’s accusation is dubious.
Unambiguously, a substantial percentage of people’s representatives, irrespective of their political identity, are blemished with criminal backgrounds and, therefore, proposing criminals for election contests is against the genuine interest of the country and also unethical. Party bigwigs and the Election Commission are comprehensively obliged to nominate only unsullied candidates for the competition.
