Sir — The pandemonium created by Hardik Patel in Gujarat will do no good to his cause. If he continues with his superfluous theatrics, it would be just a matter of time when this movement fizzles out.
It is quite apparent that Hardik is using this movement as a foundation to lift his political career, it shouldn’t be surprising if he launches his own political party or get aligned with parties such as the Aam Aadmi Party, that covertly sent its cadres to support his rallies.
Almost every political party has used reservation for political mileage. This needs to be streamlined. Caste, creed, colour and religion cannot be the basis to allocate vacancies; merit should be the only measure for short listing candidates.
