Sir — The politics surrounding Mumbai terror attack convict Yakub Memon has gone out of hand. All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen leader Asaduddin Owaisi has been advocating in favour of the terrorist and has said Memon has received a raw deal because he is a Muslim.
This is unfortunate. Mr Owaisi is mixing religion with politics and terror. But he is not the first one to do so — such controversies were created in the past also when Parliament attack mastermind Afzal Guru and 26/11 gunman Ajmal Kasab was hanged.
