Sir — This refers to the Supreme Court’s directive that examinees cannot wear hijab or full sleeves during the examination for the combined pre-medical test. It was reassuring to read the Supreme Court’s verdict, rejecting a Muslim body’s plea to allow wearing head scarves and full-sleeve dress at the All-India Pre-medical Test in the examination halls. A re-test had been ordered by the Central Board of Secondary Education as the earlier examination held in May had to be scrapped because of paper leakage. The board could not take a chance this time around.
