Sir — The lion has roared at last. Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi has claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is robbing the farmers of their land. He has called the Modi Government a “suit-boot ki sarkar”. But the BJP has reiterated that the land Bill will benefit the farmers and the landless in rural areas through employment opportunities. Both the parties seem to have made up their minds.
The Congress ruled the country for over 65 years. All its so-called pro-farmer moves failed. Accusing the Modi Government of doing injustice to farmers is, therefore, ill-founded. Mr Gandhi should substantiate his claim. Further, he should concentrate on the genuine problems the people face. He should not oppose every move the Modi Government makes, for the sake of opposing and projecting himself as a serious leader. Mr Gandhi should behave like a responsible politician if he wants the Congress to regain lost ground.
