Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Green cover exposed” (February 2). Former Union Minister for Environment and Forests Jayanthi Natarajan’s allegation that Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi had instructed her to block big projects, is a serious matter. It was an open secret that the Manmohan Singh Government was run by the mother-son duo, Ms Sonia Gandhi and Mr Rahul Gandhi. Mr Gandhi’s opposition to big projects in the name of protection of tribal rights was aimed at gaining political mileage.
But this kind of vote-bank politics hit the country’s industrial growth badly. In order to brighten his own image in politics, Mr Gandhi went to the extent of destroying his Government’s image and functioning. But, despite all that has emerged in the open, sycophancy will not cease in the Congress, and dynasty-loyalists will continue to prosper.
