Sir — With the curtailment of service of Ms Sujatha Singh as Foreign Secretary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has indelibly put his stamp on the framing of foreign policy. It looks like India’s diplomacy has a new name called ‘Modiplomacy’. Soon after the BJP came to power, it became clear that Ms Singh had fallen out of favour. However, as expected, the BJP has ruled out any political motive, pointing out that the Government had acted well within its rights to decide on the appointment of officers.
