Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Rewarded for the failure” (January 6). The US has reportedly signed off a certification that Pakistan has “prevented Al Qaeda, the Taliban and associated terror groups like lashkar-e-Tayyeba and the Jaish-e-Mohammad from operating” from its territory. All the more disturbing is that the US could grant $532 million to Pakistan in aid. The economic package, like it was done in the past, will be used to foment trouble in India further.
Pakistan will always be on its toes with a begging bowl to receive economic aid from the US. Further, the terror boat was likely about to create a 26/11-like strike in India. Thanks to alert intelligence agencies and the Coast Guard, the tragedy was averted. Through which eyes did the US see Pakistan curbing terrorismIJ
