Sir — This refers to the editorial, “The Sardar’s legacy” (November 3). The Congress found itself helpless in digesting the Narendra Modi Government’s grand observation of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary on October 31. The Congress cannot think beyond the Nehru-Gandhi family. It tried to belittle the contributions of freedom-fighters such as Sardar Patel, Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
