Sir — It looks like the “achche din” Mr Narendra Modi had promised has taken a back seat. The results of the recently by-elections demonstrate that people will not wait for long for a change to come, and they will not be misled by petty propaganda by petty politicians to divert their attention from core issues.
While it is true that by-polls are often related to local factors, the BJP should realise that the results can be a precursor to a larger picture. The party must move to contain the damage it has suffered.
