Sir — This refers to the report that certain parties have demanded a probe into the links of Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee with the tainted Saradha Group. It has been brought out that in 2010, during Ms Banerjee’s tenure as Union Minister for Railways, Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation had struck a deal with Saradha Tours & Travels owned by the tainted Sudipto Sen, who is now incarcerated.
The same Trinamool Congress supporters, who raise a hue and cry over the smallest incidents in BJP-ruled States, are now charging the BJP-led NDA regime at the Centre with misusing the Central Bureau of Investigation to settle scores.
The CBI should probe the case thoroughly and impartially. If the Saradha Group’s boss is found accountable, he should also be made to pay the entire swindled amount to the chit fund’s victims, on the pattern of Sahara chief Subroto Roy
