Wake-up call

Sir — This refers to the report, “Akhilesh logs out of plans for free laptops, jobless dole” (June 21). Wisdom has at last prevailed on the Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party Government in Uttar Pradesh.

The SP regime now wants to embark upon three main points: Electricity, roads and water. It is a good sign, but we have wait and see how the Government delivers. like Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given the slogan during the poll campaign of ‘development of all and appeasement of none’, the Uttar Pradesh Government should uncover itself from the veil of casteism and appeasement 

of minorities.

The first priority of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav should be to tackle the deteriorating law and order situation, by taking decisions without any prejudice to caste and religion. If he does not do so, he will meet the same fate in the 2017 Assembly election that the Congress has in the just-concluded lok Sabha poll.
