Sir — Mr Mallikarjuna Kharge is a surprise choice as leader of the Congress in the lok Sabha. On the one hand, he is a hard-boiled Congressman and loyal to the Gandhi family. He has also played multiple administrative roles in different ministries. He even became the Union Railway Minister last year.
But then he has spent the major part of his career in Karnataka and is little known in Delhi. He is not even articulate enough. A strong Congress leader was needed in Parliament, but the Congress is trying to play caste politics here too.
