Sir — The BJP has been seen by many as an anti-Muslim, anti-Pakistan party. But the invitation to all SAARC country leaders, including Pakistan’s Prime Minister, to attend Mr Narendra Mod’s swearing-in ceremony, has sent out a liberal and friendly message to minorities in India and Muslim-majority neighbours.
Pakistan has been a headache for India. Mr Modi’s move is a step in the direction to repair the damage that has been done. If relations strengthen, it will help to improve both economy and enhance people-people contact.
