Sir — This refers to the article, “Omar sat while Kishtwar burned” (August 14) by Hari Om. The writer has rightly charged the Omar Abdullah-led State Government for its open connivance with the rioters who had terrorised the minority community on Eid day by resorting to large-scale violence, burning their homes, shops and attacking them. The timing of the attack ahead of Independence Day is ominous, to say the least.
The perpetrators, many of whom were reportedly waving the green and white crescent Pakistani flag, have not only tried to destroy communal peace and harmony, but they seem to be working to a sinister design at ethnic cleansing, for a second time in the State, under the clear instigation of the separatists.
