Double standards

Published on:

Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Guilty mustn’t escape” (April 12). It is really distressing that even after nearly 30 years, none of the Congress leaders involved in the horrific 1984 massacre of Sikhs has been punished. The Congress has adopted double standards on the issue. But why are the other so-called secular parties and ‘rights’ activists who vociferously shout for justice for post-Godhra violence victims, maintaining a studied silence and leaving the Sikh groups to fight a lone battleIJ Had the Sikh community been a dominant minority to influence poll prospects, things would have been different.
