DC Hazaribagh Ravishankar Shukla himself went to Barkagaon to talk with the agitators of ongoing Kafan Satyagrah led by Yogendra Sao and MlA Nirmala Devi against NTPC and Triveni Sainik Mining company.
Shukla sat with the agitators for more than two hours and heard their arguments patiently.
He cleared his position also and urged the agitators to end their stir but the talk failed when Sao couple refused to do so till the work at mining site is going on.
DC clearly said that how the land was acquired can be examined but he has no power to order to stop the ongoing work. Yogendra Sao and Nirmala Devi were
adamant on their stand that NTPC has illegally acquired the forest land where mining work is going on in Chirudih village. DC was ready to probe into the matters of different FIRs lodged against
innocent villagers but his assurance failed to satisfy Sao couple.c
