HC cancels yadav's consultant contract

Another move to facilitate general manager (urea) of Pradeshik Cooperative Federation (PCF),  Ravindra Singh Yadav, known to be very close to power, had fallen flat after the High Court cancelled his `contract’ under which he was engaged for further two years as `Consultant’ of the PCF,  from the date of his retirement in August last.

Earlier similar move has been made when the government gave charge of MD of the Federation to Ravindra Singh, but at that time also, the HC intervened and get the officer reverted back.

Sources in the PCF confirmed that without taking consent of the Working Body of the PCF, the managing director of the federation reportedly on direction of PCF chairman, had sent a proposal to principal secretary of the Department, to engage Ravindra Singh as `Consultant’ of the PCF for two years from the date of his retirement i.e August 31 last. As per the proposal, Ravindra Singh would get the same perks which he will receive on the date of his retirement. The said officer also joined on the said post as per the contract condition.

Sources further said that the trouble started for Ravindra Singh, when one Mahesh Singh, a retired officer from Chandra Shekhar Azad Agriculture University in Kanpur, filed a writ in High Court challenging the contract. It may be mentioned that the same person earlier challenged appointment of Ravindra Singh on the post of MD of PCF and the court issued order for reversion of the said officer. According to reports, in the fresh writ also when the Court heard that rules were violated to facilitate Ravindra Singh just as he was blue eyed boy of the government, the order of engagement of Ravindra Singh as `Consultant’ has been immediately revoked by the Court while ordering the Government to file counter affaidavit in the matter. Sources said that while cancelling the order, the court even went ahead  to claim the entire process as `nexus’ of officers.
