Cong should join hands with BSP to defeat SP in lS polls: Beni

Published on:

Union Minister for Steel, Beni Prasad Verma hinted at a possible truck with the BSP in the next Parliament polls. He claimed that the Congress could even go to the extent of allying with the BSP to defeat the Samajwadi Party in the state.
''Congress could join hands with the BSP in Mainpuri and other places to defeat SP candidates,'' he announced while saying that they could allign with anyone to defeat SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, who is supposed to contest from the Mainpuri seat in the next Parliament polls.
Taking a swipe at the SP government for its failure in all fields, Verma further alleged that terror accused Khalid Mujahid was 'poisoned' by the police and SP activists
forced the attending doctors to pass on the death as 'due to sun stroke'.
It is any irony that the kin of the criminals who had killed Deputy SP Zia-ul-Haq in Kunda were given Rs 20 lakhs compensation while the kin of Khalid Mujahid were just
given Rs 6 lakhs, which they refused.
''The real face of Mulayam Singh Yadav was exposed when the government withdrew cases against BJP leader Varun Gandhi but undertook a weak process on withdrawal
of cases against innocent Muslim youths jailed in fake terror cases,'' Verma alleged.
He once again reiterated on a hidden pact between SP and BJP disclosing how Mulayam Singh Yadav and lal Krishna Advani had joined hands during the Ayodhya
movement to polarise vote bank on communal lines in their favour.
The MP from Gonda atacked the SP government for distributing laptops to students claiming that it was a ploy to catch votes. ''laptops would be useless for students as there is no power in the districts so how owuld the laptops work,'' he
questioned. Verma informed that Steel Authority of India limited
(SAIl) had proposed to set up two power units in Jagdishpur and Gonda but the UP government has failed to provide land for the purpose.
''The SP government has failed to accelerate developmental work while law and order problem has further deteriorated increased in this regime,'' he further added.
The Union minister also assailed  the SP for trying to obstruct his function in Bahriach on Monday. ''The act of SP goons was undemocratic and it proves their frustration.

Showing a black flag during a private function is not acceptable,'' he said.
On Monday, Verma had to leave a function mid-way after SP activists created a ruckus as Verma started speaking after inaugurating a steel processing plant.
