The Indian Youth Congress on Monday launched a digital campaign against Rajasthan BJP president Madan Rathore over his controversial remarks about Pakistan, demanding accountability from the BJP leader.

IYC national president Uday Bhanu Chib and Rajasthan Youth Congress president Abhishek Choudhary launched the 'Digital Kalikh' campaign, which seeks to highlight Rathore's remarks and mobilise public opinion through online platforms.

Earlier this month, Rathore had said at a programme in Jaipur that India would stand with Pakistan if a conflict broke out between Pakistan and the United States, citing the latter's status as a neighbouring country.

The statement triggered a political controversy, following which Rathore clarified that his remarks had been taken out of context. He said he was referring to a hypothetical cricket match between the US and Pakistan, not a war.

As part of the campaign, the Congress' youth wing also launched a website titled 'Muh Kala Karo' to extend its protest to digital platforms.

Congress leaders had criticised Rathore over the remarks, accusing him of supporting Pakistan. The party's youth wing has also staged protests against him, alleging that his comments were contrary to India's national interests.
