Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s statement equating cows with human lives has evoked repartee from All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president and MP Asaduddin Owaisi. Against the backdrop of incidents of lynching in suspicion of cow smuggling, Adityanath said humans were important and cows were also important. Owaisi on Twitter said India should be governed according to the constitution, not sentiments, not sentiments of majority or minority.
