Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for once again re-establishing the richness of Sanatan traditions on the global platform with the inauguration of rejuvenated Kashi Vishwanath Dham and termed the feat as a moment of pride for all nation lovers.
“With this inauguration, Ma Ganga (river), believed to be entangled in Mahadev’s hair and in Kashi, gets released to reunite with Baba Vishwanath and a long wait spanning hundreds of years is over.
It’s a moment of delight for everyone from Ma Ganga to Baba Bhairavnath and to the people of Kashi and all Indians residing in any corner of the world,” he said.
Yogi further said, “With this project, the prime minister has gifted a clean and green Kashi to the people, which was also a dream of Mahatma Gandhi.
Others used Mahatma Gandhi’s name for political mileage while Narendra Modi truly followed his ideals and worked towards realising his dream.
Mahatma Gandhi was pained to see the filth in Kashi during one of his visits, but no political party paid any heed, except Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
The chief minister said that Kashi has been witness to several attacks from foreign rulers in the last 1,000 years, but people from different parts of the country have come forward to contribute to rejuvenation of its heritage from time to time. “Ahilyabai Holkar rebuilt the temple in the 18th century.
Later, Maharaja Ranjit Singh donated a huge quantity of gold. And today thanks to the prime minister’s initiative, Kashi Vishwanath Dham stands completed.
Narendra Modi has reintroduced the world to India’s glorious cultural and spiritual heritage through Yoga, Kumbh Mela and now Kashi Vishwanath Dham and Ayodhya,” he concluded.
