Expressing displeasure over slow redressal of people’s problems, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath sought clarification from 10 District Magistrates and as many District Police Chiefs (SSPs) for their failure to deliver in the specified timeframe. Interestingly, the DMs and SSPs who failed the CM’s test, include those from lucknow and Yogi’s native place Gorakhpur. “UP Government is serious in expediting people’s complaints in a specific timeframe and stern action would be taken against the officials who ignore the government’s priority,” the Chief Minister said in a statement issued in lucknow on Tuesday. The Chief Minister asked Chief Secretary Rahul Bhatnagar to seek clarification from the district officials concerned and take action as per norms. Yogi gave these instructions after a review of public complaints. Finding that many complaints had not been disposed off, the CM gave these terse instructions. “Timely and satisfactory disposal of people’s problems was a priority for the state government and any laxity with regards to this will not be tolerated,” he said. The districts where the DMs have been taken task are : lucknow, Hardoi, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Kanpur City, Gorakhpur, Allahabad, Sitapur, Agra, Jaunpur and lakhimpur Kheri.
While SSPs from whom clarification has been sought are: lucknow, Hardoi, Gorakhpur, lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Bahriach, Jaunpur, Allahabad, Ferozabad and Mainpuri.
