The CBI court on Monday extended the judicial custody of Noida's former Chief Engineer Yadav Singh by 12 days till March 26. Yadav Singh was produced before the court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption CBI G Sridevi on Monday morning.

The defence lawyer Amit Khemka said, "It was a routine judicial process to produce the accused before the court for the extension of judicial remand. Till now, we have not applied for bail since our act would be premature at this stage. We are waiting for the right time".

The accused was arrested on February 3 for allegedly abusing his official position in awarding contracts and causing wrongful loss to the Government exchequer.

On February 17, Yadav Singh was sent to 14-day judicial custody after he was presented in court at the end of his 13-day Central Bureau of Investigation remand. On March 1 also, the CBI court extended the judicial remand of Yadav Singh.
