The Odia Diaspora across the globe has formed World Odisha Society (WOS) with the eminent journalist Kishore Dwibedi as the first Chairman to promote and propagate Odisha interest. In its first meeting convened on last week, the WOS Board designated Dr. Debendra Majhi as its Chief Spokesperson and Swati from Canbera, Australia and Dr. Bhagyashree Singh from London as Addl. Spokespersons of the Global Society.
While Dwibedi is former Delhi Bureau Head of Odia daily Samaja, Sambad and Prajatantra, Majhi is currently posted as Director of Dr Ambedkar Foundation in Union Social Justice Ministry, New Delhi. He earlier had stints in HRD Ministry and Road Transport Ministry. Swati works at Queensland with the children with special needs and Bhagyashri is associated with British Health Systems in London.
The board meeting considered the suggestions received from participating members to make team of inclusiveness and varied representations and resolved that the Chairman was authorised to nominate 15 members from the Primary membership to the Working Committee.
