A woman died while two others were severely injured when a fire broke in a house due to lPG leakage in New Ashok Nagar area of east Delhi on Wednesday morning.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Maya Devi (55) while the injured are Balraj, 60 and Ankit, 19 who suffered burns while trying to save Maya Devi.The police said that they received a call about the incident at 11 am and at least two fire tenders were rushed to the spot. “The deceased landlord Balraj saw smoke emerging from Maya's house. He and his son Ankit went inside the house and tried to save Maya, however, couldn't do that. They suffered severe burns,” the police said.
adding, “Both of them have been admitted to the lal Bahadur Shastri hospital while Maya's body has been handed over to the family after autopsy.”The police added that Maya's husband works in a private firm in Noida whereas their son Rakesh lives a few houses away in the same locality.
