The high-blitz BJP campaign in Bihar would be laced with a series of innovative numbers with the lead song being “Is baar BJP, Ik baar BJP” — sung by Bhojpuri actor-singer and BJP MP Manoj Tiwari — which would beseech voters to bring the glorious days of “the proud Bihar of the past” back in the State by rising above “politics of caste and creed.”
The campaign which is to kick start on July 16 in the State will be a “positive one”, presenting all Bihar-centric development plans before the voters and would not be “harsh” on former Chief Minister and RJD leader lalu Prasad Yadav, according to sources in the party.
Invitations have been given to to known Hindi and Bhojpuri film and television personalities like Sweta Tiwari, Manoj Vajpayee and Ravi Kishen to join the party’s roller-coaster election campaign which will have 250 “election raths” doing the rounds of all 38 districts of Bihar
Each districts will have six raths moving around and each Vidhan Sabha constituency would witness at least one vehicle blaring election songs, slogans, recorded speeches and videos snatches of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speeches focusing on Bihar.
The title song of the BJP poll campaign “Is baar BJP, Ik baar BJP” — written, composed and sung by Tiwari and to be released by BJP chief Amit Shah — goes on to say “Jaat Paat se upar ki sarkar chahiye, bijlee-pani chahiye, vapas gaurav shali Bihar chahiye…” The song was recorded in Delhi.
Three more poll songs would be treating urban and rural voters which have recalled the proud political and cultural history of the State, starting from Gautam Buddha and Emperor Ashok. These songs are again given voice by Tiwari and other singers.
Besides the signature Tiwari number in Hindi, campaign songs have been recorded in Bhojpuri (spoken in Western Bihar), Maithili (spoken in Northern Bihar) and Angika (spoken in Eastern Bihar).
One of the main numbers goes “..Jai Jai Bihar, Jai jai Bihar, Teri maati badi mahaan..”. The song was, incidentally, selected by Bihar BJP in-charge Bhupender Yadav.
The song is liberal and encompasses all streams of thoughts with the lyric going “…Jai Jai Bihar…Budhdam Saranam Gajhami.. Allah-ho-Akbar… Jai Jai Bihar..”. The song touches on Mahatma Gandi, former Congress and Dalit leader Jagjivan Ram and also narrates the enterprise of Biharis (settlers) in far off places like Tridinad and Surinam.
“All these songs are very polite and modest in their tones. There is no mention of BJP we are reminding people of their heritage”, said the North-East Delhi BJP MP who would also be addressing at least 150 poll rallies in the state.
Poll songs, however, indirectly hit out at the JD(U) and Nitish Kumar rule saying ‘…loot, hatya, apaharan ka danav phir sata raha hai, jungle raj vapasi ka ehsaas sata raha hai’.
Shah will flag off 250 GPS-fitted election chariots ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s July 25 rally in Muzaffarpur. The schedule of other public rallies of Modi — expected to be not less than five — would be ready before the weekend.
