Telangana Chief Minister and Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K Chandrasekhar Rao said that having provided an exemplary Government in the State over the last four years his party was now all set to play a pivotal role in the national politics and replicate the "amazing development" of the State at national level.
The assertion came at party's Plenary on Friday, being held at Kompally near Hyderabad with the theme of "smile on every face, welfare of every home".
Addressing 13000 odd delegates from all the 119 Assembly constituencies of the State KCR said that he will continue to work hard to make Telangana a model for the entire country. "We have provided an honest and value based Government in the State", he said.
The Plenary marks the completion of 17 years of TRS, 13 of which the party spent fighting for the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and formation of separate Telangana State. KCR said that the dream of Telangana was fulfilled thanks to the sacrifices and untiring struggle of the people of the region.
"Now Telangana has emerged as a trend setter for the entire country with several unique programs for the development of the welfare of the people and now several states were seeking to replicate them", he said adding that now he will work to show a new direction to the country.
Earlier KCR unfurled the party flag and garlanded the statue of "Telugu Talli", the symbol of Telangana State.
The proposed Federal Front, which KCR envisages to float by bringing together the non Congress non BJP parties, was a recurring theme at the Plenary.
"Hyderabad will be the starting point of a political earthquake", KCR said. "We will change the national politics. We will go ahead with the blessings and support of the people. We will take the pink revolution to each and every village of the country", he said.
Pointing out that for the most part of the history of independent India either Congress or the BJP have ruled the country, KCR blamed for the country remaining poor and under developed.
"All over the world average speed of a truck is 80 kms per hour but our infrastructure allows them to move at 25 km per hour only", he said giving an example of the slow progress in the country in terms of infrastructure. "Average speed of goods train in China is 80 kms per hour whereas our goods trains moved at 24 kmph only. Is this progress we achieved so far"IJ he questioned.
"We will make India a wonderful country. We have all the necessary resources and the money. We have amazing rivers and the land but because of the lack of a visionary leadership we are in this unfortunate situation", he said.
KCR said that there was a need for increasing the per capita income of the people and putting an end to the suicide by the farmers. "As a responsible State we will lead the movement for the development of the country", he said.
Criticising the centre for not respecting the spirit of cooperative federalism he asked why the agriculture should be with the center. "Why should there be three lists of State, centre and Concurrent", he asked.
