In an attempt to invigorate party workers, Congress Working Committee member and former Union Minister Beni Prasad Verma said that party should forget the 2014 and make a new beginning from Thursday.
“The coming year would be of the Congress when the party will win the hearts of the people once again. We will unitedly launch mass agitation against the lapses of the Narendra Modi Government and apprise the people about the misrule of the Government,’’ he said.
Verma said that 2015 would be the year of turnaround. There is not doubt in 2014 the Congress has received one of the worst electoral drubbing. It will be able to win the trust of people and jump back to number 1 position.
‘’For Congress, 2015 would be the year of agitation. The party will organise a series of rallies and meetings in UP as well as across the country. We will build bridges with the people,” he said adding that soon he will meet the party president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi to apprise them of the strategies to be adopted in the state.
Verma said that it is only the Congress which can fight the BJP at all level. “We have the might and strategy to counter the canard beign spread by BJP. Some small parties too claim they can stop the BJP juggernaut but people should not get confused,” he said.
