'Will seek votes on basis of performance'

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday said he would seek the vote in the Assembly election on the basis of his works. Hitting out at the BJP, he said, “Others may seek public support through their jumla and try to befool them again but we will go to the people on the basis of our performance. let the public decide.”

Nitish was talking to the media on the conclusion of the Monsoon Session of the Bihar Assembly which was its last session. The five-day session was, however, not allowed to function in a regular manner as the Opposition BJP raised many issues that caused adjournment of the House. An independent woman MlA Jyoti Rashmi was marshaled out on Thursday when she uprooted a mike and hurled a chair saying the issue of total ban on liquor raised by her constantly was not being heard.

A number of JD(U) MlAs queued up in the CM’s chamber to touch his feet and seek blessings, a sort of confirmation that they would be given ticket. Many of them were also seen handing over papers to him seeking some last minute work. To some of the MlAs, the CM told them to concentrate on their constituency but this comment was not directed to all of them.

Nitish also called on RJD supremo lalu Prasad on late Thursday night and reportedly held discussion on seat sharing and joint campaign.
