Will contest both Jammu LS seats, says Lal Singh

Former BJP Cabinet Minister and ex-MLA from Basohli Assembly segment, Lal Singh, who had floated Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan after courting controversy in the Kathua rape and murder case last year, is set to spoil BJP party in the coming Lok Sabha polls from Jammu region.

On Tuesday, Lal Singh announced he will field his party candidates for both the Lok Sabha seats in Jammu.

“At present, we are awaiting formal registration of our party. The process has been set into motion. Soon after receiving the formal nod, we will launch aggressive campaign ahead of the Lok Sabha polls”, Lal Singh told reporters in Jammu.

For over nine months, Lal Singh, unhappy with the BJP’s handling of Kathua rape and murder case, had been staying away from party functions, devoting all his time and energy to raise his own regional outfit.  He even accused BJP of hurting ‘Dogra’ pride by not firmly supporting demand for a CBI probe in the Kathua rape and murder case to unravel the murder mystery.

Ousted Lal Singh himself toured all the district headquarters of Jammu division and addressed road side meetings in support of CBI probe in the Kathua rape and murder case.
