What is ‘secret deal' between Modi Govt and Finmeccanica? Asks Cong

Published on:

The Congress on Monday demanded answers from the  Government over reports of the lifting of a ban on procurement from Finmeccanica company which had been dubbed as corrupt by the ruling BJP over the Agusta choppers deal.

The opposition party claimed that a “fake bogey of corruption” was raised by the BJP over the buying of VVIP helicopters during UPA_II rule and asked if it was being given a quiet burial. Former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi trained guns at Modi government for lifting the procurement ban on the Italian defence giant Leonardo SpA, earlier known as Finmeccanica, whose subsidiary had been involved in the alleged scam surrounding the Rs 3,500-crore VVIP chopper deal.

Taking to his official Twitter handle, Rahul Gandhi said, "Earlier #Augusta was corrupt, now it has been washed in the BJP laundry!"
