The Bengal BJP on Thursday congratulated Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for rehabilitating and providing jobs to 5,464 Bangladeshi refugees in his State and criticised his Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee for welcoming the Bangladeshi infiltrators into her State while doing nothing for the refugees.
“What is Bengal Government doingIJ” asked BJP central observer for Bengal Siddharthnath Singh. “We are noticing that Mamata Banerjee welcomes illegal infiltrators but has no sympathy for refugees from Bangladesh” Singh said.
Incidentally Prime Minister Narendra Modi had during his election rallies in Bengal differentiated between the refugees and infiltrators saying the refugees from Bangladesh were welcome in India and their economic burden should be shared by all Indian States.
