Woman and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi has pitched for her Ministry’s participation in the Digital India campaign. She has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to showcase the digital board prepared under the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ as part of the ongoing week-long campaign.

“We had written to the States to adopt innovative methods for our ongoing campaign to save girl children. Of the several States which participated, the Ministry adopted the ‘Digital Guddi-Gudda Board’ which has been popularised in the district of Jalgaon, Maharashtra,” said an official from WCD.

“The digital board works as a platform for dissemination of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Material on BBBP as well as updating monthly birth statistics. Once it is showcased in the Digital India Week being observed from July 1 to July 7, we will ask other states to adopt it in their districts too,” said an official.

The digital board displays audio video material as well as still frames for disseminating information. This Board is being currently displayed at important state offices including that of the Chief Minister, district level offices, Zila Panchayat offices, primary health centers and other public places frequently visited by the common man.
