In unusual show of solidarity the ever-bickering ruling Trinamool Congress and the Opposition Marxists on Monday joined cause, passing a resolution on Aadhaar Cards asking the Central Government to rollback its decision to link the card with subsidy to consumers of lPG.
Not only that the two sides came together in bashing the Centre on the issue but also the Government heeded Opposition leader Suryakanto Mishra’s amendments and included it to the resolution.
Passing the resolution, State Parliamentary Affairs Minister said while about 85 per cent of Bengal’s customers had no Aadhaar Card they would not be able to enjoy the subsidy on lPG after the card is linked to the subsidy regime.
