A visually-disabled advocate has come to the rescue of mentally-challenged girls, sexually exploited inside the Home for Mentally Retarded Children in Channi Rama area of Jammu.
On Friday the advocate moved an instant letter before the Chief Justice of J&K High Court pleading before him that the investigation in the shocking case of sexual exploitation of mentally challenged girls be monitored by the High Court by treating his letter as Public Interest litigation (PIl) as the victims are not in a position to project their grievances.
Immediately after the letter was presented before the Chief Justice of J&K High Court, Justice MM Kumar admitted it as PIl and directed the Registry to list the same for hearing on September 9, 2013 before the Division Bench in Jammu wing of the state High Court.
