BJP MLA and former Delhi BJP President, Vijender Gupta today expressed grave concerns regarding the deplorable conditions and tragic deaths at Asha Kiran Home for the Mentally Challenged in Rohini. Over 14 residents have died within the span of a month, exposing severe neglect and mismanagement by the Delhi government run shelter home for mentally challenged.
In a letter addressed to the Honorable Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Vijender Gupta detailed the alarming rise in fatalities highlighting the chronic neglect and abysmal state of healthcare and living conditions at the facility. Many of the deceased succumbed to treatable conditions such as lung infections, tuberculosis, and pneumonia. Alarming reports of malnourishment among inmates further underscore the severe dereliction of duty by those responsible for their care.
