Video shows Army destroying Pak bunkers along loC

Sending Army authorities in a tizzy, dramatic visuals showing Indian Army destroying Pakistani post along the line of Control (loC) on Monday hit the TV channel screens amid loud clamour for giving “befitting” reply to the “barbaric” act of mutilation of bodies of Indian soldiers by the Border Action Team (BAT) of Pakistan Army.

Several TV channels went ballistic making “unsubstantiated” claims that the video was “purportedly” shot while Indian Army retaliated to avenge mutilation of bodies of jawans after May 1 attack in the Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch. Senior Army officers posted in the Northern command headquarters swiftly denied leaking of the video, claiming it has not been released by the Indian Army.

The Army officers demanding anonymity, however, failed to give satisfactory replies how such exclusive videos found their way in the public domain.

When asked whether any enquiry has been initiated to track down the source of leak the Army officers shied away from commenting on record.

The Army officers at least denied claims made by TV channels that the video was shot in the Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch after May 1 strike by the Pakistan BAT team.

“I cannot comment on the video, which has not been released by the Indian Army,” a senior officer posted in the media cell of Udhampur-based Northern command headquarters told The Pioneer.

Interestingly, 1.41 minute long video clip was in circulation since Sunday evening but it went viral early Monday morning when some TV channels started broadcasting it.

Initially, an attempt was made to hard sell the video to pacify the angry masses seeking “firm” response from the Indian Army but as the day progressed question marks were raised about the timing and the location of the video shot from inside the bunker of the Indian Army.

Army officers posted in Jammu and Nagrota also raised question marks over the timing of the video claiming the jawans of the Indian Army were eagerly waiting their turn to avenge mutilation of their colleagues.

“The video in circulation may have been shot before the BAT of Pak Army mutilated the bodies of our soldiers,” Army authorities claimed

In the video, the soldiers present in the bunker can be heard relaying real time information to their superior officers how the shells were hitting the target and destroying the Pakistani post.

On ground zero, the Indian Army is yet to take strong action against the Pakistan Army’s ‘despicable’ act.

Since May 1, the Army officers have been brainstorming and reviewing their preparedness to plan their “appropriate” retribution to avenge mutilation of Indian soldiers.
