Inspired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s brainchild and Gujarat Government’s flagship biennial event for trade and investment — Vibrant Gujarat — the Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Kutch will host Vibrant Kutch with a view to project the bordering district as global investment hot spot.
The three-day event starting from February 27 has also two partner countries —Australia and Holland. Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel will inaugurate the first edition of Vibrant Kutch. State Industries Minister Saurabh Patel will also remain present during the event.
“We are also trying hard to rope in Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the inaugural event. The organisers are ready to modify dates as per the schedule of PM and they are in constant touch with Prime Minister’s Office for the purpose,” said a source in Kutch chamber requesting anonymity.
One of the organisers of the event Jagat Shah informed that Vibrant Kutch will be conducted in lines with the three themes of Prime Minister —Clean India, Skill India and Make-in-India. Prime focus of the event is on innovation, sustainability, industries, technology, youth & skill development, knowledge sharing and networking. "The three-day event will be combination of trade, investment, tourism & culture," said Shah adding that trade delegations from Australia, The Netherlands, Canada, Kenya, Uganda and USA.
Ahead of the event Kutch Chamber had also done pre-event road shows in Rajkot, Ahmedabad, Surat, Mumbai, Canada, USA and Dubai. Apart from foreign companies, members of Kutch Diaspora settled in UAE, USA, Canada and other countries have generated overwhelming response, he said adding that overseas Kutchis from nearly 40 countries will attend the event.
Bollywood singer Devang Patel is also taking keen interest as cultural ambassador of the event as tourism is one of the key areas to showcase strength of the bordering district. Apart from two major ports —Kandla and Mundra, Tata Group, Adani Group, Welspun Group, Suzlon, Sanghi Industries, Ajanta Clock, JayPee Cement, Electrotherm, Jidal Steel and many more have strong presence in the district.
"We have deliberately organised Vibrant Kutch during the Gujarat Government's annual event 'Rann Utsav' (Desert Festival) which started from December 1, 2014 and will continue till March 7, 2015," he added.
