In a major push to overhaul infrastructure across industrial hubs in Uttar Pradesh, senior officials conducted a joint site inspection at the Rooma Industrial Area on Saturday to address chronic drainage blockages and water backflow issues.
Led by Deeksha Jain, Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA), the inspection team included the Municipal Commissioner of Kanpur Municipal Corporation, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Sadar), and key departmental engineers.
The delegation carried out an extensive on-site assessment of vulnerable points where severe blockages have been obstructing the natural flow of water, leading to recurrent waterlogging during rains.
Officials deliberated on technical and practical solutions to ensure a permanent resolution, highlighting the need for seamless inter-departmental coordination to upgrade the existing drainage network.
During the visit, Jain also held discussions with office-bearers of the Rooma Industrial Area Entrepreneurs’ Association to listen to their operational grievances and suggestions. Assuring the business community of swift action, she stated that UPSIDA remains committed to improving maintenance facilities and providing an uninterrupted, industry-friendly environment to boost industrial growth across the state.
