UP State Electricity Regulatory Commission asked UP Power Corporation limited (UPPCl) to explain as to how it has levied regulatory surcharge on power tariff to be charged from power consumers.
The UP Power Corporation limited had filed Annual Revenue Requirement (ARR) statement seeking revision of power tariff for the current fiscal 2017-18.
The Corporation however made no mention of regulatory surcharge in its statement filed before the regulator.
As per legal requirement, the UPPCl published the ARR in local newspapers but there it added regulatory
surcharge.
Secretary of the regulatory commission has asked Director (Commercial) of UPPCl to explain as to how the regulatory surcharge
was inserted in the advertisement of ARR published in local newspapers even as there no mention of this in the ARR filed by the Corporation before the
regulator.
