BJP president Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said the Supreme Court’s observations on Government interference with the CBI probe into the coalgate has reinforced that the UPA regime played a cruel joke on the judicial system.
Singh reiterated his party’s demand for the resignation of law Minister Ashwini Kumar. “The government has made large scale changes in the content of the status report filed by the CBI and now it is shying away from owning moral responsibility of its act. The government is trying to cover up its misdeeds by subverting the investigation process and keeping the court in the dark on the whole issue,” Singh said.
The BJP chief said his party raised this issue in both the Houses of Parliament and the Congress blamed it for disrupting the proceedings. “Now, the SC observation has validated our stand,” Singh claimed. The BJP chief also demanded an apology from the Prime Minister for desecrating the dignity of constitutional institutions.
