With an aim to meet the power crisis, the State Government will sign a ‘Power for All’ agreement with the Union Government on Friday to ensure that Uttar Pradesh got 24-hour electricity supply by 2019.

Power Minister Shrikant Sharma said that the agreement would take the State to a new level. “This agreement will ensure that consumers got quality power at cheaper rate. There will be less line loss and efforts would also be made to increase power generation,” he said.

“The previous Govern-

ment had not signed this agreement for reasons best known to them. All other States barring UP, is on the same page and when UP signs this agreement on Friday it will be a new beginning,” he said.

Even All India Power Engineers' Federation has hailed the UP government for its decision to ink the agreement.
