The Monsoon session of the Uttar Pradesh State legislature would begin from August 14, Principal Secretary, legislative Assembly Pradeep Dubey said in a statement issued here on Tuesday.
He said that Governor Ram Naik has given his approval for the commencement of the Monsoon session, which would be second meeting of the legislature this year.
This session is expected to be short one in which the Government will seek approval for supplementary grants. Principal Secretary Finance Rahul Bhatnagar has issued directives to all the heads of the departments and secretaries to furnish details about supplementary grants. A Government official said that Finance department has sought details by August 4. Different departments have also been asked to give details of Central Government grants which UP has received or is at the verge of receiving. “All the requests should match the recommendations of the 14th Finance Commission,” the directive said.
