Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav might be complaining that his Government schemes do not get publicity, but his officials have found a way to force Government employees to lend their ears to important schemes.
To get things going a ring tone “Yuva Josh” has been launched that will provide Government employees with the information about the important schemes launched by the SP Government in the last three years whenever they make a call or pick up their phones.
Some officials, who have this ring tone on their CUG numbers, said they downloaded it voluntarily. “It is so jazzy I fell for it. My principal secretary has it so I too decided to have this caller’s tune,” an information officer said here on Thursday.
Interestingly, this caller tune is on trial. Principal Secretary Information Navneet Sehgal told The Pioneer that though this caller tune is much on demand it is on trial. “We are getting good response. We will have to take a decision whether we should make it an official caller tune or not,” he said.
The tune to popularise Government’s schemes has been developed by the Directorate of Information and Publicity. Those who have downloaded the tune said it gives information about Government’s initiatives, like protecting women including introduction of 1,090 projects.
Also, information is given about the Government’s efforts to provide roof to villagers through lohia Awas Yojana . At the end of the tune one can know about how the State touched new heights under Yuva Josh.
Director Information Ashutosh Niranjan said initially the caller tune was a jingle meant for FM radio but later we transformed it into caller tune.
“The best part of the process was that the Government did not have to spend a single penny on it. And it is the first caller tune in India which talks about Government schemes,” he said.
“Almost all the officials now have Yuva Josh as their ring tones. It was launched just a couple of days ago and within no time this melodious and feet thumping tune became popular,” said a senior official, adding, “The tune does not carry Samajwadi Party tag and that is why many have fallen for it.” For the time being political workers have not been asked to download the caller tune.
“I heard it recently and it is very jazzy. In two minutes all the important Government schemes have been touched. We are waiting for the directives from the Chief Minister. Once we get the go ahead party workers would be asked to use it,” Ashish Yadav, OSD to Chief Minister, told The Pioneer.
The punch line of this Government has been Yuva Soch — young vision depicting young Chief Minister. “We have young Chief Minister who has new vision and is full of fresh ideas. He is not afraid of taking plunge into unknown territories and result so far has been very encouraging,” Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan told The Pioneer.
