Fulfilling one of the long-pending demands of the primary teachers, the Uttar Pradesh Government has decided to increase the retirement age of the primary teachers of non-government and aided-schools from existing 60 years to 62 years.
The decision in this regard was taken in the Cabinet meeting held here on Tuesday. The retirement age of the teachers of Government-run primary schools is already 62 years. “The decision of the State Government is likely to benefit over 65,000 teachers,” a Government spokesman said.
In another decision, Government has agreed to set up new OPD block in Balrampur hospital. All the rooms in this block will have vitrified tiles and have false ceiling. The block will also have ramps for the benefit of disabled people. The Government has also authorised UP Sugar Mills Federation would purchase sugar for the PDS from sugar cooperative mills.
