A complaint pertaining to misappropriation of public funds to the tune of Rs28 lakh has been lodged against the Union Tribal Welfare Minister Mansukh Vasava, his Gujarat counterpart Chhatrasinh Mori and eight others. The complaint has been lodged in the Bharuch Court by the president of the Valia taluka panchayat in South Gujarat with a request to order recovery of the amount from the Ministers.
The Ministers and other accused officials have allegedly allocated Rs28 lakh from the Government grants for the tribal people to a non-tribal trust, said the complainant, adding that he had drawn the attention of the concerned officials in October, last year, about the lapse and requested them to rectify the error but having failed to receive any response from them he was forced to lodge the complaint with the court for the recovery of the public funds.
