Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj Parshottam Rupala visited the Dalit family in Mota Samadhiyala village near Una where four Dalit youth were brutally beaten for allegedly skinning dead animals.
Unlike other political leaders visited the village, Rupala went a step further and arrange a meeting of villagers from all communities, including family members of victims.
Talking to the media, the Minister said the idea to assemble people from all communities was to solidify unity in the village. There are only two parties as far as this episode is concern – one on the side of Dalit victims and other giving more pain to them, he said, adding that both the Anandiben Patel and the Narendra Modi Governments are with victims and their family members.
He further said that the saffron party believed in unity and harmony in the society. The Narendra Modi Government works for development of people from all the strata of society, he added. In connection with the Dalit issue in Gujarat, he said that it was obvious people from all parties visit sufferers, but using the issue for political gains and slamming ruling party was not at all acceptable.
Meanwhile, Gujarat BJP president Vijay Rupani said that opposition parties were doing politics over the Una Dalit issues keeping the upcoming Uttar Pradesh polls in mind.
