Union Minister Arjun Munda on Tuesday had a close shave as the election campaign vehicle he was using in Mabazar Assembly constituency under Purulia district was attacked by miscreants. The Minister remained unhurt and he directly blamed TMC supporters for the incident.

In a series of tweets Munda stated that the attack was orchestrated by the “goons of TMC”.  “Today I had to meet people in Bamani of Maan Bazar Vidhan Sabha, but TMC goons attacked the chariot Birsa Munda, Sido Kanhu Samman Rath. Mamta Didi's police remained a mute spectator.....” stated Munda in a tweet.

According to reports, besides Union Minister Arjun Munda, BJP candidate from Maan Bazar, Gauri Singh Sardar, former Bahragora MLA Kunal Sarangi and others were present in the vehicle when it was attacked.

Condemning the incident, State BJP president Deepak Prakash said that today JMM is supporting such a party which conducts planned attacks on Jharkhand's former Chief Minister and other leaders of Jharkhand including popular leaders.

He said that the chariot that Arjun Munda was traveling in was also the chariot named after martyrs Sido Kanho and Lord Birsa Munda of the State.

He said that TMC has become completely frustrated and disappointed in the West Bengal elections.

“Today, the people of West Bengal want freedom from the misrule of Mamata Banerjee. There is a wave in favour of BJP across the State,” he said. Prakash said that the Chief Minister of the State,

Hemant Soren should give a statement on the insult and martyrdom of the martyrs of the State.
