Union Min a partner in tainted VR college

A new twist is likely to be added to the murkier case of intermediate topper scandal in Bihar. The discovery of new incriminating documents from the epicenter of the scandal, Vishun Rai College, Bhagwanpur in Vaishali district by the Special Investigating Team (SIT) suggested that a Union Minister is also one of the partners in this college.

Initially it was widely believed that Bachcha Rai was the sole owner of this toppers producing college. Rai, who is in police remand, has also spilled beans about his connection with the leaders of different parties. Rai was earlier supposed to be close to the RJD.

The SIT has come to conclusion that there are three partners in this college. While Rai has a share of 50 per cent, the Union Minister has 30 per cent while another politician has 20 per cent share. The team found documents and registers apart from financial accounts that these three are partners.

The seized documents also hinted Rai’s close affinity to a former Education Minister. During his tenure Rai succeeded in spreading his tentacles and succeeded in opening new educational institutions. Rai managed at least 15 schools and colleges under Vishun Rai Educational Trust.

Even though the police has not revealed anything about the documents and information it has ascertained from different sources, it is believed that it might be the same Union Minister with whom Rai’s photographs were recently found on the social media and the Minister did not deny his links with the college and its director.

Meanwhile, the police has still not been able to find out either the former chairman of Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) lalkeshar Prasad Singh who went missing soon after resigning early this week nor his wife Usha Sinha, JD(U) leader and former MlA whose involvement in the irregularities and scam is beyond doubt. The SIT is likely to procure warrant of arrest against the absconding couple and also seek orders for attachment of their properties. The SIT also made repeated raids at Ganga Devi Mahila College in Patna where Usha Sinha was principal. The Vice Chancellor of Magadh University, under which this colleges falls, has removed her from the office of principal. It has been detected that the answer sheets of the intermediate toppers had been evaluated in this college unofficially and she is suspected to have a major role in the final results of the BSEB.
